Julian Barnes is a strange fish. If you liked the first book, read the second and hope for a third. We see the repercussions of the events from the first book and the effect that it has on the characters.

She seems like the only grownup in the room, frankly. I wouldn’t call it therapy but when one reads a Barnes story on love, sex and relationships, you get some uneasy feelings. Etceteea few other people are allowed to speak.
