But her father’s family has a complicated history – one tied up with the fight for equality for the nought population. You are commenting using your WordPress. Since then, Sephy and Callum’s friendship has been secret. As Sephy and Callie are having a heart to heart in the cellar l, Sephy shows Callie the true letter that Callum wrote to her and oh my god… I actually cried when reading it.

Sephy confirms the rumours, and they decide on names for the child: Moreover — to consider the possibility of a third way — a society run entirely along non-racially defined power structures. We meet Sephy again, but this time she’s older and some what damaged by her past and finds it difficult to love again. Callum tells the rest bby the gang what Sephy said about Andrew. I feel boring going on about this again, but Vlackman was, sadly, still as annoying as in the previous books; very often I felt as though her eight- nine- ten-year-old daughter was more mature, had more common sense than her.

There didn’t seem to be any motivation for her actions. And in a way, it isn’t. Why does she make me cry so bloody much! The turmoil – emotional, physical, mental, and social – is overwhelming. blsckman

Checkmate (Noughts & Crosses, #3) by Malorie Blackman

Malorie Blackman broke my heart with the first book of this series and only now, has she tried to mend it. The bits with Sephy and Callie in the cellar were so drawn out. Luckily, Dan appears from nowhere and kills the two minions outside and McAuley, saving Tobey’s life. Her surgery is successful, but she ends up in coma.

Callum decides to let Sephy flee from the other kidnappers while they are out. I’m reluctant to read Double Cross as Checkmate was a perfect end to a thought-provoking and emotionally charged series which I thought was absolutely superb and cannot recommend enough. Especially because of the incident at the end of ‘Knife Edge’ when Sephy hugged baby Callie so tightly that she stopped breathing. This section of the story reaches a dramatic climax and the end for some of the characters.

I really enjoyed the first two books but it’s been such a long time since I read them and when I started reading [FR] Abandon de cette saga.

I live these stories. I loved this book, it was brilliant! I found it really sad towards the middle where Callie’s thoughts and feelings regarding Callum began to get really negative since we know Callum and all the information Callie received was based on lies and it was just really sad to read.

When Callie Rose smiles at me, she lights up my life. I liked how we get to see the alternating points of views between Callie, Sephy, Meggie, Jasmine and Jude. I loved the fact that Malorie Blackman allowed us to witness Callie Rose growing up as it gave me insight into her character and her struggles in the unjust world, replicating our own. It makes perfect sense to me that Sephy would treat her daughter in such a way to keep her independent and ‘make her stronger’.

I hope it’s Tobey but can’t be sure.

Jude realises that Sephy seriously wants to die so he decides that since killing her would be to do her a favour, he will make her suffer instead. Incredibly exciting, fast paced novel.

I didn’t get the reason why Jude was using Callie, I mean It was a great book.
