In part because I can’t even fathom how the author wrote another story in this world, with Geralt, unless it was to go back somewhere else in the timeline. I believe anyone who has read the whole series would know what I’m talking about. Geralt and Yennefer have withstood torture, grievous wounds, and much more in order to protect Ciri, so their easy, calm, and romantic suicide pact while Ciri gets dragged amdrzej to be raped by her father is just NOT plausible.
Perhaps that is my simple bias and obvious want sapkowwski something better, but there it is. This cycle and his many other works have made him one of the best-known fantasy authors in Poland in the s. O kas po to? What I hate the most is what happened to Ciri in the end.
I had to force myself to continue reading and be finally done with the book the saga. Geralt exists in an ambiguous moral universe, yet manages to maintain his own coherent code of ethics.
There was never a mention of “other worlds” and to have Ciri just suddenly be able to do such a thing is terrible storytelling.
I mostly enjoyed the previous Witcher books, but this one is definitely not my favorite even though I appreciate the work it does in closing out the tale.
Not very nice at all, though they have overlooked Ciri’s own opportunist nature and her will to survive.

The Lady of the Lake is the final book and it brings the whole saga to an end, with Ciri finding herself in another world having gone through the Tower of Swallows and trying to get back, to find Geralt and somehow end the war that has been ravaging her home.
That he would waste away his winter in that castle and resume his activities as a witcher, even under enchantment, is slightly unbelievable.

Or how Ciri was the child of hope and throughout all books everyone were making great plans for her to conceive a child and she ended up alone with some knight wanting her to become his wife? I have loved this series, but like a lot of books, this author will never end the story.

I did enjoyed parts lagk this book, though it did have many problems. None of the magic in all five books was of anything more than killing people and for vengeance.
It’s an interesting idea, one that merges history and fantasy creating an almost dream like feel within the writing, though it never delivers what it promises. There have been no improvements since the first few books, and the changes that were made to alleviate those disappointments were far too late and not particularly well done.
Many hinted that she can easily control time, yet she tried to do it once and then got scared. Refresh and try again.

She has to have a child, a Savior, with her own father. Many events would probably never even taken place. How do you make the least exciting fantasy series ever written even more boring, you ask?
While those three were great, I can only say that the last two could be better. I see nothing special about her-except this ridiculous ability-and she andrezj changed during the course of this series. A lot of time is also wasted on philosophical ramblings.
Necessary ka closure in a series I enjoyed, but not my favorite read. Not a bad thing of course. The b I originally started the switched book series because of my love for the Witcher games. The last one, The Lady of the Lakewas disappointing.

In this particular book there are a few eama sections, the part where it cuts to Jarre after a very interesting section with Ciri comes to mind and I struggled through that part. Nonetheless, I don’t know that I’ll make the same lxgo with Season of Storms. Or how the great emperor Emhyr has murdered countless men, destroyed countries, the world history as he knows it, literally pushed the whole continent into a war to obtain Ciri, just so he would give her up because Yennefer shed a tear?
